WINNIPEG – An overnight electrical fire means the Elmwood Kildonans Pool on Concordia Avenue will be closed until further notice.
Cleaning crews who were working at the pool noticed the fire shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday. They evacuated the building and reported the fire.

The fire caused smoke damage and damage to an electrical panel, a city spokesperson said.
Crews are still assessing the extent of the damage and there is no cost estimate yet, nor any estimate for when the pool will reopen.
The city is still working on figuring out what effect the fire will have on programming and where people who would normally use the pool should go instead.
