CALGARY – Alliance Pipeline L.P. says it plans to develop a pipeline and other facilities in North Dakota to transport liquids-rich natural gas to a processing facility in the state.
The pipeline’s capacity will be 120,000 Mcf per day, and could be expanded depending on demand.
The company said that Hess Corp. has entered into an agreement to service the proposed 128-kilometre pipeline that would connect production from Hess’ gas processing facility in North Dakota to the Alliance mainline in another part of the state.
The gas will be then shipped to a market hub near Chicago.
The gas processing facility has a planned service date of July 2013.
Alliance Pipeline is owned 50-50 by Enbridge (TSX:ENB) and Veresen Inc. (TSX: VSN).
The company owns and operates a 3,700-kilometre gas transmission system that stretches from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, underlying much of Alberta, to the hub near Chicago.
