EDMONTON – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has located a nine-year-old boy who had been missing since Saturday afternoon.

Police put the call out for the public’s help Sunday morning.

Tarrin Cheekinew was last seen by his father, at Edmonton’s City Centre mall, around 1:30 p.m.

Police say the boy’s dad gave him bus fare, and he was expected to return to family’s home in the Eastglen neighbourhood.

Cheekinew is 4’10” tall, with a stocky build. He has long, dark hair. On Saturday, the boy was wearing a light blue hooded jacket with the letters ‘STC’ stitched on the back. He was also wearing red shorts and green Nike shoes.

The EPS says the boy was found unharmed at a friend’s home in north Edmonton.
