WINNIPEG – The police officer rides his motorcycle slowly past vehicles, peering into windows, then pointing at drivers and indicating they have to pull over.
A ticket is then written as an officer talks to the driver about what just happened.
The downtown Winnipeg footage caught by Global Winnipeg cameras appears to show a sting operation against drivers using their phones behind the wheel near Portage Avenue and Main Street.
The penalty for distracted driving – including using a handheld device behind the wheel – is a $200 ticket and two demerits.
