Large Dartmouth pothole damages five vehicles: HRP

HALIFAX – Police in Halifax say weather conditions and a nasty pothole played havoc with traffic along a highway in the city.

Police say they helped five motorists who damaged their vehicles after hitting a large pothole on Highway 118 near Exit 13A.

The accidents happened within a half hour period late Thursday.

Police say officers remained by the pothole because of poor visibility caused by thick fog in the area until a Transportation Department work crew could make it to the scene.

The crew patched the treacherous pothole.
