SNOWDEN, Sask. – The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure says a road northeast of Prince Albert was washed out Tuesday due to spring runoff.

Highway 55 is currently closed to motorists near Snowden, Saskatchewan.
A local detour has been established between the junctions of Highways 106 and 6.
For eastbound traffic, the detour runs south from the junction of Highways 55 and 106 for 3.2 kilometres. Drivers can then head east 8.1 km and north for 3.2 km before rejoining back up with Highway 55.

The ministry says the highway was extensively damaged by flooding.
It’s too soon to provide a schedule for repairs.
