RCMP search of large scale drug search closes 72nd Avenue; one arrested

A police investigation of a large scale drug operation resulted in one arrest and 72nd Avenue in Langley closed for a short time yesterday.

After weeks of investigation, the Surrey RCMP drug section searched a property in the 20600 block of 72nd Avenue. Authorities closed off the street for public safety but it was immediately reopened once they determined the community and nearby residents were not at risk.

A 36-year-old Surrey resident was arrested and has since been released until the drug related charges have been approved.

The investigation is still on-going.
