No charges after boy hit by vehicle in Dartmouth school parking lot

HALIFAX – Halifax police say no charges will be laid after a boy was hit by a vehicle backing into a parking spot at a Dartmouth school on Wednesday morning.

The victim, an eight-year-old boy, reportedly ran out from a grassy embankment at Ian Forsyth School as the 36-year-old woman was reversing her vehicle.

The driver immediately stopped and helped the boy until emergency personnel arrived.

The boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.
