VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks face the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup finals 2011, Game 7, Wednesday, June 15.
The score was sitting at 1-0 to the Bruins at the start of the second period. #37 Patrice Bergeron scored the first goal for the Boston Bruins.
Ryan Kesler had a good shot on Tim Thomas within the first minute of the second period of Game 7 between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins, but it didn’t get past the larger-than-life goalie.
Burrows thought he had scored a goal early in the second but Thomas was sitting on top of it inside the net, and it was no goal.
Vancouver had three shots on goal early in the period, but Thomas is living up to his reputation and keeping the puck out.
Both teams are playing aggressively and the game continues to be very fast-paced.
The crowd inside Rogers Arena is electric, and the fans are behind their Canucks all the way to the end it seems.
At 11:08, Burrows once again took a shot on net, and Thomas once again made a good save.
As in the first period, play was mostly uninterrupted, with not many penalties being called.
With about 7:40 left in the second #63 Brad Marchand scored the second goal of the game for the Boston Bruins. It was a wrap-around goal, and even though there was a scramble in front of the net, Luongo was not able to keep it out.
A few minutes later, the Canucks were surrounding the Boston goal desperately trying to get one past Thomas, but they couldn’t make it.
Zdeno Chara was awarded the first penalty of the game at 16:07 for interference, and Vancouver went on the first power play of the night.
On the Vancouver power play, Patrice Bergeron put the puck in the net, and Luongo didn’t try to stop the puck as he thought it was going to be called, but the goal stood, making the total 3-0 to the Bruins.
