A man in his late twenties is being treated in hospital after what Richmond RCMP are describing as a targeted shooting.
Police say the victim was shot around 10:30 last night at Jack Bell Drive and McNeely Drive – not far from No.5 Road and Cambie.
An SUV linked to the victim has now been seized by police, and is being examined by forensic analysts.
Some of the windows have been shattered and there are bullet holes visible.
It’s not clear if the victim was a passenger or the driver.
Investigators are looking into whether the victim was lured into the area, since he doesn’t live nearby. Canine units searched the neighbourhood but didn’t find anything.
The man is in stable condition in hospital.
He is well-known to police and is not cooperating with the investigation.
Richmond RCMP Serious Crimes unit continues to investigate.
