Burrard Street Bridge closed for paving over long weekend

Vancouver drivers can expect some delays this long weekend due to paving on the Burrard Street Bridge.

Crews started work early Friday morning.

On Saturday, the closure will be in effect from 3:30 a.m. to noon. The bridge will re-open in the afternoon and all day Sunday, when one lane south and two lanes northbound will be open.

Drivers are advised to take the Cambie or Granville Street bridges. Work is also taking place now in order not to interfere with the upcoming Sun Run and BMO Marathon.

As part of the paving this weekend, several joints will also be replaced on the 81-year-old bridge.
