KELOWNA – Guilty verdicts were handed down Thursday in a dangerous driving trial stemming from a highway crash that killed a West Kelowna woman.
It happened on March 3/2012 when a car turning left was t-boned by an oncoming vehicle at Highway 97 and Ross Road in West Kelowna.
Cindy Louise Thomas,46, died almost instantly and two others were seriously injured.
A witness to the crash testified the drivers of both vehicles were running a yellow light.
After a three day trial, Jordan Wayne Garvin of Quesnel has been convicted of dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
The 24 year old will be sentenced at a later date.
The driver of the other vehicle where Thomas was a passenger was earlier convicted of driving while disqualified.
Scott Preston was handed a 75 day conditional jail sentence and a two year driving prohibition.
