EDMONTON – Police say an 84-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday just south of the North Saskatchewan River near Connors Road.
It happened in the area of 92 Street and 95 Avenue.
Police say an adult female pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk by a black Ford Ranger truck heading west on 95 Avenue.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say she may have suffered broken bones, but was reportedly conscious at the scene.
“As far as I know she was taken to the University of Alberta Hospital,” said Cst. Darren Sunlui with the Edmonton Police Service (EPS).
Officers say it doesn’t appear alcohol was a factor in the crash, and it’s too early to say if speed played a role.
