North Battleford businesswoman facing $500K fraud allegations

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – A North Battleford businesswoman is heading to a hearing after allegedly cheating investors out of more than $500,000,

The Financial and Consumers Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) alleges Adele Kaminsky sold investments to investors in a company called Enviro-Can Private Placement through her company AK Financial Planning Services.

FCAA says Kaminsky then took the funds and placed them in her personal account for her own benefit.

She is facing allegations that she knew, or ought to have known, that she was perpetrating fraud on her investors.

Kaminsky is also facing allegations in foreign currency trading for acting as a fund manager, securities dealer, and securities advisor while not registered to do so.

Her hearing is set for April 6, 2015.

A cease-trade order was issued against Kaminsky on March 12, 2013 and remains in place until Feb. 27, 2015 unless extended by FCAA.
