The Mounties say one of them walked out to a Natural Resources Department officer in the Cheticamp area around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The other was held up in a cabin due to injuries.

Officers say he was taken to a local hospital but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The men left Middle River on Monday morning en route to Cheticamp, about 67 kilometres away, when they were reported overdue.
