Cleanup underway in central Alberta after tornadoes touch down

OLDS, Alta. – Insurance adjusters are busy as people in central Alberta clean up the damage from a severe storm that’s believed to have spawned three tornadoes.

Chris Thiels, owner of the Co-Operators in Olds, says claims are pouring in for wind and hail damage in the Olds, Sundre and Innisfail areas.

Thiels says vehicles, shingles and property all need to be repaired or replaced.

Damage from the storm Thursday night is estimated to be in the millions.

Environment Canada is compiling information to determine if a fourth tornado touched down.

There have been no reports of injuries.
