HALIFAX – Halifax police say they’ve made an arrest and recovered pieces of three bells stolen from a church.
The bells were swiped Tuesday from St. John’s United Church on Willow Street.
Police say given the large size of the bells, they believe it took considerable effort to remove them from the church.
Patrol officers arrested a 46-year-old man from the Halifax area Wednesday.
He faces charges of possession of stolen property, break and enter, and trafficking in property obtained by crime.
Investigators say they’ve found portions of the bells, which were broken, and continue to search for the remaining pieces.
