TORONTO — B.C. crews working on Bates Motel got some good news Monday — the series has been renewed for a third season.

U.S. cable network A&E said the drama starring Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore will return in 2015 with 10 episodes.

The sophomore season of Bates Motel — a prequel to Psycho — comes to an end on May 5.

The show, which also stars Max Thieriot and Nestor Carbonell, is set in Oregon but filmed at locations in the Fraser Valley.

The titular motel is in Aldergrove, about an hour southeast of Vancouver.
