Pictou Lodge damaged by fired, but remains open

PICTOU, N.S. – Authorities say a fire at the Pictou Lodge and Resort in Nova Scotia has caused extensive damage to the kitchen.

Firefighters were called to the facility in Braeshore, near Pictou, late Monday night.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the main building.

No cause has been determined and no injuries were reported.

Co-owner Burt Langille says the lodge remains open despite the damage.

He says a mobile kitchen will be brought in while workers make repairs, which are expected to take several weeks to complete.
