CALGARY- A major fire at an acreage just west of Calgary on Friday afternoon has completely destroyed a home.
The blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a house on Springbank Heights Drive. Fire quickly engulfed the entire home, and crews were not able to save it, despite arriving on scene about 10 minutes after the call came in.
“The crews did try to make entry into the front door, but were pushed back by heat, smoke and flames,” explains Randy Smith from Rocky View County. “Unfortunately, it went into a defensive attack at that point and the place is basically a write off.”
EMS were called to the scene, but say there were no injuries.
