Canucks to host tournament in Okanagan

The Vancouver Canucks will host a Young Stars tournament in the Okanagan this September.

Prospects and young players from five NHL teams will play at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton from September 11 to 15.

The Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks and perhaps the most anticipated team, the Winnipeg Jets, will be at the round robin to evaluate the players.

Last year, 20 players from the tournament actually made the NHL.

This year, the draw will be the Oilers’ Ryan Nugent Hopkins.

Tickets for the tournament go on sale starting July 16.
