Slippery Manitoba highways prompt RCMP warning

WINNIPEG – Roads in and around Winnipeg are extremely slippery Friday morning following a Thursday thaw, Friday night freeze and snow that fell on the slick surfaces.

The RCMP issued a warning about poor conditions due to slippery roads on the Perimeter Highway.

Multiple vehicles slid off CentrePort Canada Way on Friday morning, drivers told Global Winnipeg.

The provincial road report says the following highways are ice-covered:

  • Trans-Canada Highway from Winnipeg city limits to St. Anne
  • South Perimeter Highway from the Trans-Canada East to Highway 3
  • North Perimeter Highway from the Trans-Canada East to Highway 15
  • Highway 3 from Winnipeg city limits to Highway 100
  • Highway 6 from Highway 101 to Highway 67
  • Highway 8 from Highway 68 to 7 km south of Gull Harbour
  • Highway 12 from Trans-Canada Highway to Anola
  • Highway 15 from Winnipeg city limits to Anola
  • Highway 44 from Lockport to Tyndall
  • Highway 59N from Highway 213 to Libau
  • Highway 68 from Highway 8 to Arborg
  • Highway 200 from Winnipeg city limits to St. Adolphe
  • Highway 213 from Highway 59 to Highway 12
