A logging truck driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries Monday morning after he lost control of his loaded rig on Highway 33 between Kelowna and Beaverdell. And police say it’s also lucky there wasn’t any on-coming traffic when the truck tipped over into the opposite lane and skidded about 100 metres.

The crash happened on a fairly sharp downhill curve. Police say weather and road conditions were not factors but excessive speed may have played a role.
Traffic at the site was reduced to single-lane, alternating for several hours while the wreckage and logs were cleared away. RCMP are determining if the driver, a 36 year old man from Osoyoos, will be ticketed.
