Police investigate Winnipeg shooting

WINNIPEG – Multiple evidence markers dot Seven Oaks Avenue after police received a report of shots fired overnight.

Winnipeg police only said they were called at about 4:15 a.m. Monday about shots fired on the West Kildonan street near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and McGregor Street.

But bullets could be seen in the side of 509 Seven Oaks, the apparent target, and shell casings littered the ground outside as police investigated at 8:30 a.m.

A neighbour reported hearing a slapping noise just after 4 a.m., but only thought something had fallen, perhaps knocked over by the wind.
