How cute is this? The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a family photo with their 8-month-old son Prince George, in a very relaxed setting. Taken mid-March, this photo comes roughly a week in advance of the couple’s tour of New Zealand and Australia this April.
The photograph is a departure from traditional royal family portraits, with the family appearing casual as they look out one of their windows in apartment 1A at Kensington Palace. Prince George, looking much bigger since the last official photo we saw of him at his christening, is adorable in a sweater that has his name on it as he stares at the family’s dog Lupo.
These relaxed, informal family pictures, I think, will be the family portrait trend from William and Kate in the future. You may recall the first official family photo with Prince George was taken by Kate’s father outdoors. This bodes well for their down-to-earth image as new modern day royals. This photograph, however, was taken by photographer Jason Bell. Bell is the same photographer who took the official christening photographs of Prince George back in October 2013.
William and Kate, along with their adorable son, will be travelling to Australia and New Zealand from April 7 – 25. I’m sure we’ll see many more pics of them and their growing tater tot to gush over very soon!
