MIAMI – A tropical depression has formed in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, and Mexico has issued a tropical storm warning and hurricane watch for parts of the coast.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Saturday that the storm was centred about 322 kilometres south-southwest of Punto Maldonado, Mexico. It was moving toward the west-northwest at about 15 kph.

The tropical storm warning was issued for the coast of Mexico from Tecpan de Galeana westward to Punta San Telmo. The hurricane watch was issued for the coast from Zihuateanejo westward to Manzanillo.
