Shuswap Lake could reach 1 in 5 year flood return level in the next 10 to 15 days, according to the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.
Environment Canada is not forecasting any significant changes to the weather pattern for the next five to six days, however, with the remaining snow levels, there is strong likelihood the lake will rise to 348.7 metres above sea level.
Due to the high lake levels and potential wave action, lakeshore property owners are advised to take precautions to minimize potential impacts to their properties and docks.
On Friday, recording gauges on the lake indicated the lake level had reached 348.22 metres, or 1 in 2 year flood return level.
