One person is custody this morning after a barricaded man forced the evacuation of a Coquitlam motel.
It started around 10:30 last night when police received reports of a distraught man with a weapon in a unit at the Sleepy Lodge on Clarke Road.

The whole complex was evacuated as a precaution as members from the RCMP’s emergency response team worked to resolve the situation.
After about three hours of negotiations, officers stormed the room and managed to safely arrest the man.
RCMP say the suspect is known to them and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
