WINNIPEG – Manitoba auditor general Carol Bellringer’s annual report, including her investigation of the province’s contract with the STARS air ambulance service, will be released at Wednesday.
Global News will live stream the 2:30 p.m. news conference at the Manitoba Legislative Building here.
Bellringer has been looking into how the multimillion-dollar contract with the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society was awarded.
STARS, which is based in Alberta and also operates in Saskatchewan, signed a 10-year agreement to supply air ambulance services in Manitoba in February 2012.
The service was recently suspended for three months following what the province said were medical concerns about three critical incidents. The service resumed responding to emergency calls on March 8.
