The Government of Saskatchewan announced today that 500 new child care spaces are going to be created across the province.
“Our province is growing, and the demand for child care spaces continue to increase as more parents enter the workforce or pursue post secondary education,” Early learning and Child care, Education Minister Donna Harpauer said in a release. “In response the government of Saskatchewan is continuing its record investment in early learning and child care by providing funding for 500 new child care spaces.”
The communities receiving new child care spaces are Saskatoon, Broadview, Wynyard, Stoughton, Estevan, Kindersley, Kelliher, Punnichy, Rocanville, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Spiritwood and Swift Current.
About $2.1 million was allocated during this year provincial budget to create the new child care spaces.
