The water is slowly heading towards the town of Newton and Dale Watson’s home.
"They have, I think three days before the water gets here, if it gets here," said Watson.
The biggest frustration here is the lack of communication from the province.
"Citizens have the right to be concerned about the communication but we’re working with our crews to get that information out to people," said Greg Selinger, Manitoba’s premier.
Newton residents say it’s a guessing game as to when the water reaches them, but the reeve for the RM of Portage La Prairie says don’t panic.
"We are doing our best, we’re ahead of the game, we’re ahead of the water and I’m very comfortable with the situation that we’re in," said Kameron Blight.
