<p>ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Connor Lockhart scored the winner on the power play early in the third period Sunday as the Winnipeg Thrashers beat the London Jr. Knights 3-1 to win the Telus Cup.</p> <p>Justin Derlago, with a goal and an assist, and Corey Petrash also scored for the Thrashers, who claimed their first men’s national midget championship.</p> <p>Teagan Sacher stopped 31 shots for the win. Cale Duberry had the only goal for London, which got 15 saves from Craig Wood.</p> <p>After Derlago scored midway through the second, Lockhart made it 2-0 at 1:01 of the third. Petrash made it 3-0 just 1:39 later.</p> <p>Duberry got one back for London at 14:06, but the Jr. Knights would get no closer.</p> <p>Earlier Sunday, Anthony Duclair scored two late goals as the Lions du Lac St-Louis won bronze with a 5-3 victory over the Vancouver North West Giants.</p> <p>In the bronze-medal game, Duclair broke the 3-3 tie with 2:34 left in the third before adding an empty-net goal.</p> <p>The Giants held an early 3-0 lead after Jackson Houck scored twice in the first period and Alex Kerfoot added another in the second. But Lac St-Louis tied the by the end of the second period on goals by Alexandros Soumakis, Maxim Cote and Patrick Walsh.</p>
