Justice minister confident police will deal with shootings in Halifax area

<p>HALIFAX – Justice Minister Ross Landry says he is concerned about a recent string of shooting incidents in the Halifax area.</p> <p>However, Landry says he is confident police will be able to deal with the cases and get them before the courts.</p> <p>Landry says that as a former RCMP officer he realizes shooting incidents can happen in a cyclical manner.</p> <p>He says the government has to continue to work to address the root causes of violence in communities.</p> <p>Last weekend, a 22-year-old North Preston man was shot and killed in that community.</p> <p>And police arrested three men Wednesday following a shooting incident in Dartmouth where there were no reports of injuries.</p>
