<p>MUSQUODOBOIT HARBOUR, N.S. – The Nature Conservancy of Canada has acquired three private properties in eastern Nova Scotia that are home to black bears, bobcats and migratory birds.</p> <p>The conservation group says the 193 hectares of forest and wetlands connect the existing White Lakes and Ship Harbour-Long Lake wilderness areas and will be protected from development.</p> <p>The properties are also home to species at risk, including the wood turtle and mainland moose.</p> <p>The Nature Conservancy of Canada has helped protect almost 10,000 hectares of land in Nova Scotia.</p>
