<p>MONTREAL – William Shatner is being beamed back to his hometown this spring to receive an honorary degree from his alma mater, McGill University.</p> <p>The 80-year-old former “Star Trek” star will be honoured during convocation on June 2.</p> <p>Shatner graduated from McGill in 1952 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.</p> <p>While studying there, he was president of McGill’s radio workshop and was active in campus theatre productions.</p> <p>The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor was also recently awarded with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for lifetime achievement.</p> <p>He now stars in the sitcom “$#*! My Dad Says,” originally adapted from a popular Twitter account.</p>
