Fees at the Municipal Impound Lot will increase on May 1, 2011. The Administration Fee will increase from $25.00/vehicle to $50.00/vehicle; and, the Storage Fee will increase from $10.00/day/vehicle to $15.00/day/vehicle. An increase in the number of impounded vehicles, as well as an increase in the number of vehicles not being retrieved, has increased operating costs. The new fee structure means that the Impound Lot will continue to operate on a cost recovery basis.
All seized vehicles are stored at the City’s Impound Lot, located at 150 Jonathon Avenue, in the Holiday Park Industrial Area. Residents may call the Impound Lot, 24 hours a day, at 657-8526, for information on their impounded vehicle.
Owners may retrieve their vehicle from the City’s Impound Lot once they have paid all impounding fees, and their outstanding parking fines. Payments can be made at the Impound Lot between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays (Visa, MasterCard or Debit only) or at City Hall (cash or debit payments only) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays. A paid receipt must be shown at the Impound Lot to release the vehicle.
Residents can search and pay for parking fines by accessing the City of Saskatoon website. Searches for tickets can be completed by entering the parking ticket number, or by entering your eight-digit Driver’s Licence number. Residents with questions about parking tickets, may also call the City’s Customer Service line at 975-2400, or call the Impound Lot at 657-8526, available 24 hours, regarding an impounded vehicle.
