Watch the video above: family and friends gathered to say goodbye to murder victim Dustin Boulet
SASKATOON – Dozens of Dustin Boulet’s friends and family showed up for his funeral service wearing Montreal Canadiens jerseys to honour his memory.
A devout Habs fan, Boulet used to don the number six as a hockey player.
The service was held Sunday at the Royal Canadian Legion on Spadina Crescent in Saskatoon.
“We went to school with Dustin, and he was the kind of person that, no matter who you were, he spent time with you and he talked to you. I remember Dustin had a huge heart,” said one of Boulet’s classmates, Brittney Peterson.

Boulet was killed outside the Cold Beer and Wine store attached to Bridges Ale House and Eatery on March 1.
He was celebrating his 29th birthday. His family says he was trying to break up a fight at the time.
Friends set up a donation account at Affinity Credit Union to help his family with funeral costs. So far they’ve raised about $4,000.
Those close to him say he had an undeniable love for sports, his friends, and most of all, his family.
“The smile on his face would brighten the room,” explained Peterson.
“He was the kind of person that anybody would be lucky to know.”
Dustin leaves behind his parents, his brother, six nieces and nephews, and countless devoted friends.
“I’m going to miss the guy, everybody is… we lost someone special,” said Boulet’s friend Troy Morash.
Nathan Joseph, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Estevan Fuenzalida, 24, also faces several counts, all in connection to the death of Dustin Boulet. They are expected back in court later this month.
