With the polls set to close in a few hours, there are three Saskatchewan ridings worth keeping an eye on as results start to come in starting at 7:30 p.m.
This riding has been called one of 20 ridings to watch in Canada by Global News. Incumbent Kelly Block of the Conservatives won by 262 votes over Nettie Wiebe in 2008 and all reports indicate this race may be even closer than last time.
Conservative incumbent Brad Trost is facing a spirited challenge from Saskatoon city councillor Darren Hill for the Liberals and Denise Kouri of the NDP. The wildcard in this race is Independent Jim Pankiw. When Pankiw ran in 2004, he split the Conservative vote and Trost won by just over 400 votes over NPD challenger Nettie Wiebe.

Rob Clarke of the Conservatives is being challenged by Lawrence Joseph, former Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations. Joseph’s campaign has been marked with controversy after he compared the residential schools to the holocaust. Over 60% of eligible voters are First Nations and the riding has one of the lowest average incomes in the country.
