HALIFAX – Two Halifax boys are facing serious charges in connection to a reported kidnapping.
At 4:50 a.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old man called police to say he had been abducted, assaulted, threatened with a gun and held against his will in a West End home, said Sgt. Greg Robertson of Halifax Regional Police.
The man managed to escape and met police outside the home on McAlpine Avenue. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police surrounded the home and a negotiator asked the four residents to come outside. They quickly complied and two teens, one adult male and one adult female were arrested.

The two adults were released after police questioning, but the teens remain in custody. Both are 16 years old and face between eight and 10 weapons charges. They also face additional charges, including aggravated assault, uttering threats, unlawful confinement, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, kidnapping, extortion using violence and robbery with a weapon.
Members of the Halifax Regional Police’s forensic unit search the McAlpine Avenue home for much of the evening Sunday. Police said as they continue to investigate, they are likely to make more arrests.They said the suspect and victims knew each other.
