CALGARY – Approximately 80 cab drivers held a rally in downtown Calgary on Thursday.
They marched from the Harry Hays building to City Hall over the noon hour to raise their concerns over worker safety following the vicious attack of a cabbie last Friday.
The driver was stabbed and tossed out of his vehicle which was then stolen. He is still recovering from serious injuries.
Some drivers say they want mandatory protective shields in taxis. Others are also pushing for improved insurance and more coverage through the workers compensation board.
