CALGARY- Those heading to a Calgary Flames game or concert are being warned to brace for extra security.
On Thursday, the Calgary Flames announced that the Scotiabank Saddledome is implementing “enhanced guest security and safety measures.”
That means all guests may be searched when entering the ‘Dome, including bags and purses. Walk-through metal detectors and hand-held metal detecting wands are also being introduced.

Ticket holders are being asked not to bring large bags to the venue, so that lineups don’t form at the entrance.
Below is the handout that will be circulated to fans about the changes, which will go into effect over the next month.
A Calgary Flames spokesperson says the new standards will keep the Saddledome in line with measures in effect at other NHL venues.
