CALGARY – Police are hoping for help as they investigate an assault at a downtown LRT station last month which could have ended with the victim being killed.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 30th at the 6th Street S.W. station.
The victim came to the aid of three women who weren’t being allowed to board the C-Train by the suspect, which sparked a fight between the two men.

At one point, investigators believe the suspect attempted to throw the victim onto the tracks, but threw him onto the platform instead.
Both the suspect and victim left the scene before police arrived.
Police are looking for help identifying the suspect, who they describe as 6’4” to 6’5” tall, in his 20s, approximately 200 lbs., with a slim build, brown hair and a beard.
Police also want to speak with the victim, and ask that he contact Cst. Ryan Johnson at the CPS District 2 office, 403-567-6271.
The victim is described as 25 to 40-years-old, wearing a black jacket, backpack, and red and white baseball cap.
