Pasqua hospital cancels surgeries Wednesday due to sterilization problems

REGINA – Equipment sterilization problems have forced the cancellation of 16 surgeries at Regina’s Pasqua Hospital.

The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region says the problem was detected by staff doing quality control tests.

An investigation is underway and officials expect the issue will take less than a day to correct.

The health region says despite the inconvenience, its top priority is safe patient care.
