REGINA – Premier Brad Wall will be the first Saskatchewan Party candidate nominated for the upcoming provincial election in 2016.
Wall’s nomination on March 20th in Swift Current will mark the start of the Sask. Party’s nomination process.
“It is an unqualified honour to represent the constituency of Swift Current and to carry the Saskatchewan Party banner into the next election,” Wall said. “I will never take either honour for granted.
“It’s time to start getting ready for the next election and that means nominating the team of women and men who will be representing the Saskatchewan Party and working to earn the trust of Saskatchewan voters.”
Premier Wall expects a mix of experienced MLAs and new faces to represent the party in the next election.
“I have asked all of the Saskatchewan Party MLAs to let me know whether they plan to run in the next election so we can move forward with their nomination or, if they are not running again, so we can begin the process of selecting a new candidate in their constituency.”
It is expected that the Sask. Party will select 60 other people across the province for nominations.
