Crews still draining water from Route 90

WINNIPEG – A water main break has flooded Route 90 at Selkirk Avenue at 6:30 on Tuesday morning, causing closures in the area.

Northbound lanes of Route 90 (Oak Point Highway) at Selkirk remained closed at 9:30, police said; westbound Selkirk traffic was being rerouted onto Bentley Street.

Police said city crews were still steaming open drains to try and get the water off the street.

Cars drove on ice under at least a foot of water in frigid temperatures at 6:30 a.m.

Police are on the scene directing traffic in extremely difficult, slippery conditions.
