WASECA, Sask. – A woman walking on Highway 16 near Waseca, Saskatchewan is dead.

It happened Thursday evening just before 9 p.m. approximately two kilometres east of the community.

RCMP say 51-year-old Marlene Florence Cardinal of Maidstone was walking down the middle of the westbound lanes when she was struck by three vehicles: a pickup truck, a semi and a passenger vehicle.

The westbound lanes were closed for several hours.

Police continue to investigate but say the collision is not criminal or suspicious in nature.

Waseca is approximately 220 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
