CALGARY – A 63-year-old woman has died and four more people are in hospital following a head-on collision on Glenmore Trail on Saturday.
Police say they were called to Glenmore Trail between Blackfoot Trail and Deerfoot Trail just before 11:30 A.M.
A westbound pickup truck lost control before going over the centre median and colliding with an eastbound car.
A 63-year-old woman, who was a front seat passenger in the car, was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the car, a 66-year-old man, was taken to Foothills Medical Centre in critical condition, while a 22-year-old woman sitting in the back seat was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.
The other back seat passenger, a 5-year-old girl, was taken to the Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
The woman driving the pickup truck was taken to South Calgary Health Campus with minor injuries.
