Environment Canada has upgraded their “winter storm watch” to a "winter storm warning" for the Calgary area with a forecast of heavy and blowing snow overnight. The weather agency expects increasing cloudiness through Friday and a 30 per cent chance of rain showers. The temperature Friday should peak around 6 C. Conditions will shift overnight heading into Saturday as the temperature dips to -2 C and rain turns to snow. Expect as much as 10 to 20 cms of snow on Saturday, with a high of -1 C and northeast winds up to 30 km/h. The chance of flurries continues Sunday, with a low of -4 C and a high of 2 C. However, starting Monday, Environment Canada forecasts mainly sunny conditions and highs well above zero.
