Sources tell Global News that a body discovered in Pickering was inside of a suitcase and Toronto police’s homicide unit has been called in to investigate.
Police said the body was found near Highway 401 and Whites Road area at around 12:06 a.m. Friday.

Police have not released the circumstances surrounding the body, such as the person’s identity or what happened.
Sources said the reason Toronto police is leading this investigation in Durham Region is because it appears to be related to a missing person case from Toronto.
Global News also learned a garbage bin was taken away by Toronto police from the Pickering Casino on Thursday night in relation to the investigation.
