Construction will soon start on a $40 million shopping centre near Westside Road and Highway 97.
The centre to be called Okanagan Lake Shopping Story is a partnership between the Westbank Indian Band and a Vancouver development company.
Tenants will include two banks, Shoppers Drug Mart and an eight screen cinema.
The sod turning was held today and construction is expected to start within a month.
The shopping centre is expected to open in the spring of 2012.
